It was a call we just couldn’t refuse! 
One of our Hayward neighbors heard about the Hill and Valley Club and their program to provide our patrol officers with stuffed animals to hand out to children who need a smile. So, our community member reached out to us on social media and asked if we could pay her daughter a visit.
And, as you can see in the photo, Patrol Sergeant Tasha DeCosta and Officer Chase Martinez got something in return – smiles of their own!
They found out the little girl had two brothers – so they came bearing three stuffed animals.
There’s no doubt this job comes with its challenges. But, it also comes with moments of joy!
