* Flash Flood Warning for... Habersham County in northeastern Georgia... Rabun County in northeastern Georgia...

* Until 1130 AM EST Thursday.

* At 525 AM EST, Rainfall across the warned area has already amounted to between two and two and a half inches since yesterday. On top of saturated soil conditions and progressively rising stream and river levels, additional heavy showers and a few thunderstorms will develop and move across far Northeast Georgia this morning. An additional inch or two of rainfall is likely with the risk of high rainfall rates as well. This will lead to flooded roads, and streams and creeks rising out of their banks. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Clayton, Clarkesville, Cornelia, Baldwin, Demorest, Mount Airy, Alto, Mountain City, Tiger and Dillard.

* AFFECTED AREAS: RABUN, GA ... HABERSHAM, GA

Instructions:

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
