Flood Warning until 07:30PM
At 1021 AM EST, Heavy rainfall amounts of up to three inches of rain has already fallen, with another inch likely over the next 12 hours. This has resulted in river and stream rises in the area, with reports of two minor mudslides in Saltville and numerous roads closed in Tazewell County. The Clinch River at Richlands continues to rise, currently over the flood stage of 10 ft with additional rises likely. With the expected additional rainfall, the river will likely crest near 13 feet, but could rise as high as 15 feet this afternoon if expected rainfall amounts over perform. If this were to occur, this would be the highest readings since November of 2003 or earlier. Some locations that will experience flooding include... Marion... Richlands... Bluefield... Tazewell... and Saltville.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
