Flood Warning until 05:48PM Saturday

...The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia... Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg affecting Carroll...Coweta and Heard Counties Flint River near Lovejoy affecting Clayton...Fayette and Spalding Counties Flint River near Griffin Hwy. 16 affecting Fayette and Spalding Counties Flint River near Molena affecting Meriwether and Pike Counties Flint River near Carsonville Hwy. 19 affecting Crawford... Talbot...Taylor and Upson Counties .Recent heavy rainfall has caused significant runoff into streams and rivers which will cause flooding in some areas. The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a

* Flood Warning for The Flint River near Molena.

* From Friday evening until Saturday afternoon.

* At 5 PM Thursday the stage was 15.8 feet, and rising.

* Minor flooding is forecast to develop.

* Flood stage is 28 feet.

* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Friday evening, then continue rising, reaching near 28.4 feet Saturday morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by late Saturday morning.

* At 20 feet, bankfull conditions are reached along the river from Flat Shoals Road to the Georgia Highway 74 bridge. At 24 feet, minor flooding continues in the agricultural and wooded areas downstream from the gage near the Georgia Highway 74 bridge. In this area the water level reaches the foundation of a house on the left bank. At 28 feet, flood stage is reached with minor flooding continuing in the natural flood plain near the gage location. Flooding continues to expand into the agricultural and wooded areas downstream from the gage near the Georgia Highway 74 bridge. Elevated homes in this location will see a foot or two of water underneath them.
