Flood Warning until 10:30PM
The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a
* Flood Warning for... Tazewell County in southwestern Virginia...
* Until 1030 PM EST Friday.
* At 120 PM EST, Local law enforcement as well as local river and stream gages continue to indicate extensive flooding across the county. Nearly a dozen roads remain closed due to flooding. Thus, the flood warning has been extended into the evening hours. This includes the following streams and drainages... South Fork Clinch River, North Fork Holston River, Ray Fork, North Fork Clinch River and Bluestone River, as well as other unnamed small streams and creeks throughout the county.
* AFFECTED AREAS: TAZEWELL, VA
Instructions:
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4.
