Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 2/13/2020 at 1238 hours, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a personal injury crash, that occurred on US 12, near Gumwood Rd., in Milton Township. 17-year-old Niles resident, Luis Morales, was driving the vehicle when for an unknown reason it went off the roadway and struck a tree. This caused the vehicle to overturn. He and his passenger, Belisario Moreno, were transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment, and 17-year-old passenger, Meagan Franch, was treated and released at the scene. Seatbelts were used and at this time it is not believe that intoxicating substances were a factor. This case remains under investigation.
