CLOVERDALE PREPARES FOR ANNUAL CITRUS FAIR EVENT FEBRUARY 14-17TH
As the annual Citrus Fair approaches, the Cloverdale Police Department would like to provide Citizen’s with important information for those wishing to attend the event. The Citrus Fair Parade will take place on Saturday, February 15th. Road closures will be in effect from 8:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm. Cloverdale Blvd will be closed from Fourth Street to Citrus Fair Drive and motorists will not be permitted to cross Cloverdale Blvd from any side street throughout the parade route. The intersection at S. Cloverdale Blvd and Citrus Fair Drive will be controlled by law enforcement and will be closed to all northbound traffic. Motorists are being asked to use alternate routes of travel during that time.
Barricades with “No Parking” signage will be placed on Cloverdale Blvd along the parade route. Vehicles left in “No Parking” zones during the designated hours on Saturday will be subject to tow at the owner’s expense. Persons failing to obey the road closures will be subject to fine.
In an effort to prevent overcrowding at the Citrus Fair Drive gate after the parade, citizens are encouraged to use the alternate gate entrance on Commercial Street.
The Citrus Fair event draws a large crowd of people to the fairgrounds increasing the need for enhanced safety. The Cloverdale Police Department will have a command post set up during the event for those wishing to stop by or have questions.
The Police Department has also set up a public information cellular telephone text alert function through NIXLE to provide public safety alerts and other important information to members of the public who are attending the activities during the event. In order to receive these important public information text messages members of the public can opt-in by texting the word CITRUSFAIR to 888777.
