Press Release: Deal Police Officers arrest subject for vehicle burglary

ACCUSED: Edward Byham, Age 29, Oakhurst, NJ
NARRATIVE:
On February 8, 2020, at approximately 11:29am, the Deal Police Department received a report of an individual breaking into vehicles on Roosevelt Avenue. Upon arrival, a witness provided Patrolman Mirrione with a detailed description of the accused and the vehicle he was operating.
Over the next several days, Patrolman Mirrione and Detective Daniel Liptak conducted a follow up investigation regarding the incident. They were successful in identifying the accused with the assistance of Ocean Township Police Criminal Investigation Bureau.
On February 13, 2020 the accused was arrested and transported to Deal Police Headquarters for processing and charging. Bynam was charged with 1 count of Burglary. In accordance with bail reform guidelines, Bynam was committed to Monmouth County Jail pending a court date. The Deal Police Department reminds the public to always lock your vehicles when you are not with them and to report any suspicious activity to the police without delay.
