​On 02-15-2020 at 11:45am, deputies from the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the railroad crossing at Cottom Drive and Stout Street, in southern Vigo County, in reference to a truck that had been struck by a train. Upon deputies arrival, it was determined that the single male occupant of the truck was killed as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash. The male has been identified as 67 year old Bryce Vilchuck of Pimento Indiana. No train personnel were injured in the crash. According to CSX, the lights at the crossing were operational at the time of the crash.
