A message from Cal Water:

Starting Tuesday, February 18, crews will begin construction in the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Silver Spur Road, north of the new pump station site. Work will take place from Monday to Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., for approximately two weeks.

While work is underway, downhill traffic will be diverted to the southbound lane of Crenshaw Boulevard starting approximately 200 feet south of the Silver Spur Road and Crenshaw Boulevard intersection, with one lane of traffic open in each direction. The signal lights in the intersection will be flashing red and all left-hand turns will be available. Once work in this intersection is complete, traffic control will be removed, and traffic lights will return to their normal, timed cycles.

To facilitate traffic flow, traffic control officers will be stationed in the Silver Spur Road and Crenshaw Boulevard intersection from Monday to Sunday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Please expect delays while work takes place and use alternate routes, such as Hawthorne Boulevard, where possible. When driving in construction zones, please remember to slow down and obey all traffic control personnel and signage for the safety of residents and crews.

As a reminder, 24/7 traffic control along Crenshaw Boulevard, between Silver Spur Road and south of Chadwick Lane, will remain in place until approximately early March.
