Due to recent Motor Vehicle thefts involving vehicles left running and unattended the Florissant Police have issued an informational alert.

As a result, the Florissant Police are encouraging all residents to take precautions when securing their vehicles.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to make sure all doors are LOCKED upon exiting their vehicle, and at no time should owners leave their vehicle running and unattended.

A car that is stolen while warming or with the keys left in the car is a crime of opportunity. Please take the opportunity away from the criminal element and follow our advice.

Florissant Police are also asking all residents to be vigilant and call 911 when suspicious activity is observed.

Again, this is information that we feel is very important to prevent our residents from becoming a victim of a crime.
