Phone Scams! Several residents have recently contacted the police department to report suspicious phone calls they received. Residents reported receiving calls from persons portraying to be from the Social Security Administration, DEA, FBI and most recently our own Police Department. In each of these calls the scammer asks for money because of an active warrant. Some of these phone calls have even been spoofed to look like they are coming from our main police line: 609-693-4007. Please be advised that this agency nor any other law enforcement agency will never call you via telephone asking you for money. If you receive any phone calls similar to this please contact the Ocean Township Police Department immediately. Once again this agency nor any other law enforcement agency will never contact you requesting money via telephone! These calls are scams!
