On February 20, 2020, at 7:23 pm, Forest City fire and police personnel were dispatched to 145 Greenfield Drive in reference to a subject being shot. Officers arrived and found Denzel Jarcus Wright, age 27, of Forest City suffering from a gun shot wound to the left leg. Mr. Wright was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Investigative staff from Forest City Police Department and Crime Scene Investigators with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation processed the crime scene. The incident is being investigated as a homicide and an autopsy is being scheduled. The investigation is ongoing.
