Shooting at Cochrane Rd and Mission View
On Thursday February 20th, at approximately 8:12 pm, Morgan Hill Police were dispatched to the area of Cochrane Rd and Mission View on reports of multiple shots being fired in the intersection. Upon arrival, officers did not locate any involved parties or vehicles however multiple bullet casings were located in the roadway. MHPD patrol officers initiated an investigation and contacted witnesses at the scene.
During the investigation, MHPD was contacted by San Jose Police stating their officers were out with a vehicle that may have been involved in the shooting in the area of Bernal and Via De Oro. The male occupants of the vehicle were suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victims to the hospital. One of the victims sustained life-threatening wounds and the other victim sustained serious injuries. MHPD officers and detectives responded to San Jose and located the involved vehicle and contacted the victims.
During the investigation, it was determined the victim vehicle was traveling northbound on Mission View and stopped at the intersection of Cochran Rd. The suspect vehicle pulled along side the victim vehicle and fired multiple shots into the occupied vehicle. The victim vehicle fled the area traveling west on Cochrane Rd then north on S/R 101 where it eventually stopped on Bernal Rd in San Jose. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark colored sedan occupied by multiple subjects and was last seen traveling east on Cochrane Rd at a high rate of speed.
