A death investigation is underway following a rocket crash that resulted in the death of one subject 
INCIDENT: Rocket Launch Crash/Death Investigation
LOCATION: Private property near Hwy. 247, Barstow
SUMMARY:
At 1:52 p.m. deputies were called to an event on private property off of Hwy. 247 in Barstow. A man was pronounced deceased after the rocket crashed in the open desert during a rocket launch event. Medical aid was staged for the launch and was on scene immediately.
Sheriff’s Aviation and Specialized Investigators have responded to conduct the investigation.
The Coroner will also do an investigation and make positive identification of the victim. Once positive ID is made we can release the name of the victim.
