Bomb Threat Investigation at MCHS South Campus
Late last night, a bomb threat, directed toward the South Campus, was reported through the Minooka Community High School (MCHS) Anonymous Tip Center. The information was received by the Channahon Police Department at approximately 4:45am February 26, 2020.
Officers made an immediate safety sweep of the school building and property, where no threat was found. Additional officers remain at the school out of an abundance of caution to ensure students and staff are protected. School Resource Officers will be inside the building for the entirety of the school day.
While the treat was directed toward the South Campus, the Channahon Police has shared all available information with the Minooka Police Department and the MCHS Central Campus location.
At the time of this release, investigators are actively working with MCHS staff to identify, locate, and mitigate the source of the threat.
