Milpitas PD Press Release: Residential Burglary Suspect

SUSPECT #1: Unknown Hispanic Male Adult
SUSPECT VEHICLE: Unknown light-colored SUV
On February 5, 2020 at approximately 11:04 p.m., an unknown suspect parked in front of a residence on the 600 block of Berkshire Place in Milpitas and stole a locked mailbox from the residence. The suspect was last seen leaving the area in a light-colored SUV. On February 6, 2020 at approximately 01:59 a.m., the same suspect returned to the same residence and turned off the power to the residence from the exterior panel. The suspect stole a large amount of jewelry and designer handbags valued over $10,000 from the victim and left the area in the light-colored SUV. Prior to turning off the power to the residence, the suspect can be seen on surveillance camera footage as being a Hispanic Male Adult wearing a dark jacket and light-colored pants.
The Milpitas Police Department is thoroughly investigating this residential burglary and is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect. We encourage anyone with information to contact the Milpitas Police Department.
As a result of this specific burglary, the Milpitas Police Department is recommending residents lock their exterior electrical panel with a lock, which might deter a burglar from targeting your home using this method to defeat security measures.
