IMPD Officer is recognized by FBI Director for quick apprehension
INDIANAPOLIS- Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Samone Burris was recognized today by Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Director, Christopher Wray, for her outstanding work in locating an individual wanted by the FBI. Officer Burris serves on the East District Community Relations Unit. East District CRU is a proactive unit that directly addresses various neighborhood issues and provides public safety resources to areas recently affected by violent crime.
On February 5th, 2020, IMPD officers were notified that Gregory Hendricks was wanted by federal investigators out of Anderson, IN, for Distribution of Controlled Substances. Officer Burris immediately began patrolling the neighborhood and located Mr. Hendricks. Officer Burris, along with IMPD East District officers, IMPD K9 and FBI SWAT took Mr. Hendricks into custody without incident.
