Suspect:
On Saturday, February 29th, around 7:36 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were working gang suppression within the City of Pomona. Officers were working the north end of the city when they stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations. During the course of the investigation officers located a loaded stolen firearm in the vehicle. Suspect Boyd took ownership of the stolen firearm. Suspect Boyd is also a known documented Pomona gang member and a convicted Murderer.
In the vehicle was a 7 year old child who was related to the driver and Suspect. The child was released to a legal guardian in the field. The department of Children Services were notified of the incident and an investigation was initiated.
Suspect Boyd was arrested for the above listed charges and booked at the Pomona City Jail.
The City Of Pomona is dedicated to combating gang violence and will continue to use all available resources to ensure the safety of our residents.

- Boyd, Samuel, 27 Year Old Pomona Resident
