Joel Fish of Hesperia is arrested for terrorist threats, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition

SUSPECT(S): Joel Fish, a 53-year-old resident of Hesperia

SUMMARY: On Sunday, March 1, 2020, at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station responded to the 32700 block of Hilltop Boulevard, in the community of Running Springs, reference a male who brandished what was believed to be a black pistol at several people and threatened them. In fear for their lives, the victims fled the scene and contacted law enforcement, in which they were able to provide a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was seen driving.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., deputies located the suspect at the 76 Gas Station, in Running Springs. The suspect was identified as Joel Fish. Fish was detained during the investigation and a record search revealed Fish was on active felony formal probation for violation of California Penal Code Section 594(a), vandalism.
During a search of Fish's vehicle, a black browning .177 caliber pellet gun, which resembled a real firearm, was recovered from the backseat. In addition to the pellet gun, deputies also recovered a loaded .22 caliber long-rifle in the backseat of Fish's vehicle as well as 9MM ammunition. Fish was a convicted felon and had served several years in the California Prison System.
Joel Fish was arrested for violation of Penal Code Sections 422, terrorist threats, 29800(a)(1), felon in possession of a firearm, 30305(a)(1), felon in possession of ammunition, and 1203.2(a), violation of probation. Fish was booked at Central Detention Center where he is being held on a $135,000.00 bail in addition to a No Bail Hold from probation.
