PG&E Scam Alert
Over the past few days, we have had citizens report they are receiving calls from people posing as PG&E employees, demanding cash or gift cards for overdue payments. The individual tells the resident their service will be disconnected if they do not pay immediately. This is a SCAM.
If you receive a call from someone stating they represent a utility, a bank, the IRS, Social Security, DO NOT give them any personal information, banking information or pay them with gift cards over the phone. Companies do not take payment for services via gift card. Protect yourself. Do not give any money or personal information to anyone over the phone.
