Yucaipa Police Department's Multiple Enforcement Team arrested 2 suspects for possession of drugs for sales

LOCATION: 13000 block of Calimesa Blvd, Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Edgar Avelar, age 32 a Transient
Christine Lowe, age 23 a Transient
Jodi Hale, age 48 a resident of Yucaipa
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, March 3rd, at approximately 9:30 p.m., while conducting proactive patrol around the west end of Yucaipa, the Yucaipa Police Department's Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) initiated a vehicle check in front of a known drug house. Deputies contacted Edgar Avelar, Christine Lowe, and Jodi Hale near the vehicle. A search revealed Avelar was in possession of approximately 13 grams of heroin. A search of the vehicle, which belonged to Lowe, revealed approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine and numerous suspected Xanax pills. Deputies also located a digital scale and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
Avelar and Lowe were both booked on charges they possessed drugs for sales. Lowe is being held on $110,000 bail. Avelar was also found to have a warrant for his arrest on prior charges of resisting a peace officer. He is being held on $110,000 bail. Hale was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia and released at the location.
