The McHenry County Clerk has announced early voting times for the 2020 General Primary Election at the McHenry City Hall location. If coming to vote early, please use the Court (Council Chamber) entrance.
Saturday, March 7th - 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Monday, March 9th through Friday, March 13th - 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday, March 14th - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday March 15th - 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Monday, March 16th - 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Non-Highway Vehicles Ordinance
The McHenry City Council passed an ordinance that will soon allow the operation of non-highway vehicles on City streets. Vehicles will need to be registered prior to their operation. The application for such registration is not yet available, but will be prior to the non-highway vehicle season, which begins May 1st. Not all streets will be open to non-highway vehicles.
An interactive map is available here that shows permitted streets, prohibited streets, and designated approved intersections.

Several police department supervisors attended an Integrated Response Conference hosted by Disaster Ready Solutions in Wheeling, Illinois. They learned from discussion on the tactics used during the Henry Pratt Shooting Incident in Aurora, the Silicone Plant Explosion and the cascading events that followed in Waukegan, pitfalls and lessons learned during a recent Fentanyl Lab Raid in Naperville, and Command Priorities used during the area-wide disaster of an EF-5 tornado in Joplin, MO.
Officer Hernandez attended Breath Analysis for Alcohol training hosted by the South Elgin Police Department.

- Handled 590 calls for service
- Investigated 15 Motor Vehicle Accidents
- Conducted 201 Traffic Stops
- Conducted over 150 Business Checks and Foot Patrols
- Handled 8 calls for service involving Domestic Disputes
- Handled 3 calls for service involving crisis intervention
- Arrested 10 individuals on State criminal charges
