SUBJECT: Motor Vehicle Stops Leads to Narcotics Arrest

LOCATION: State Highway 35 in Ocean Township
ACCUSED: Gyse Pierce, 24 year old male of Neptune, NJ
NARRATIVE: On March 5, 2020 at approximately 11:34 pm, Officer Angelo conducted a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 35 for a traffic infraction. While speaking to the occupants, Officer Angelo observed drug paraphernalia inside of the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Angelo asked the driver, now identified as Gyse Pierce, to step out of the vehicle and as he did, two bags of marijuana fell to the ground. Officer Angelo immediately placed the Pierce under arrest. Pierce was also found to be in possession of prescription medication without a valid prescription. Pierce was charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of over 50 grams of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Pierce was processed and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
