Novato Police Department will Participate in Statewide Operation to Reduce Youth Access to Alcohol. 
This weekend officers from the Novato Police Department will participate in the 9th Annual Statewide Shoulder Tap operation hosted by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC). Over 70 agencies in the State of California will participate in this law enforcement effort. The goal is to raise awareness about the dangers of underage drinking, reduce youth access to alcohol, prevent DUI crashes and reduce other alcohol problems that stem from youth consuming alcohol. Its a crime to furnish alcohol to a minor and doing so will result in an arrest and fine up to $1,000.
