Over the past several days there have been many updates regarding Coronavirus cases spreading throughout the world. On Monday, Governor Murphy declared a state of emergency for the State of New Jersey. Here in Gloucester Township I have been working closely with members of our Office of Emergency Management team, the Gloucester Township Police Department, AMR EMS, Gloucester Township Public Schools, Black Horse Pike Regional School District, and the Camden County Health Department to ensure the public health and safety of our residents.
We have updated the municipal website with current information about the status of the virus as well as any event cancellations taking place in our township. We advise you to also monitor our social media channels for additional updates and cancellations.
At this point we know that some people are at higher risk of getting sick; this includes older adults and people who have serious chronic medical conditions.
Please watch for symptoms and warning signs such as fever, cough, shortness of breath (for a full list of symptoms please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/…/specific…/high-risk-complications.html).
If you feel that you might be sick, please stay at home and call your healthcare provider to let them know about your symptoms and follow their instructions.
Here in Gloucester Township we are taking any potential risk to our community very seriously. Protecting the health and safety of our residents is our top priority.
