Deputies arrest Samuel Starkey of Crestline after finding him in possession of a firearm and stolen property

LOCATION: 24000 block of Zurich Drive, Crestline
SUSPECT(S): Samuel Thomas Starkey, 30-year-old resident of Crestline
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at approximately 2:10 p.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station conducted proactive patrol in the 24000 block of Zurich Drive in the community of Crestline. Deputies stopped a white male adult, identified as Samuel Starkey, walking in the area. While talking to Starkey, deputies saw the butt-stock of a rifle sticking out of his backpack and he was detained. During the investigation, Starkey was found to be in possession of a concealed Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum revolver, ammunition, two replica firearms and numerous pieces of jewelry.
The Smith & Wesson revolver, ammunition and jewelry were found to have been stolen from a residence in Crestline earlier in the day.
Samuel Starkey was arrested for residential burglary, possession of stolen property, and possession of a concealed firearm. Starkey was booked at Central Detention Center where he is being held on $75,000 bail.
