Press Release- Palmdale Deputy Involved in Minor Traffic Collision..
On March 13, 2020 at approximately 10:55 a.m., a Palmdale Sheriff’s Station deputy was involved in a minor traffic collision with a civilian driver. While traveling authorized “Code-3” (lights and sirens) westbound on Avenue R approaching Sierra Highway, in response to an emergent call of a person screaming, the driver of a 1996 Toyota Corolla (civilian) was travelling southbound in the number one lane approaching Avenue R. As the deputy entered the intersection with his lights and sirens activated, he was struck by the Toyota Corolla.
The deputy complained of pain and was taken to a local hospital. The civilian driver complained of minor pain but was not transported to the hospital per her request.
he deputy involved is expected to make a full recovery.
