Knowlton Township Coronavirus Precautions Update
As of 6 pm this evening, there remain no confirmed cases of Covid-19, also known as coronavirus, in Warren County. However, in response to recommendations from the federal and state health agencies and out of an abundance of caution, a number of local agencies have taken the following actions:
- All Warren County schools are closed for a period of two weeks starting Monday, March 16, 2020.
- By order of the State Chief Justice, municipal courts in New Jersey will be closed March 16 - 27. Therefore, the Knowlton Township court that was scheduled for March 16 is now cancelled.
- The Township of Knowlton has declared a State of Emergency. Knowlton is one of seven towns in Warren County to do so. This is an action that authorizes the local Office of Emergency Management to take appropriate steps to address the public hazard of Covid-19 should it be necessary.
- Starting Tuesday, March 17, Knowlton's Municipal Offices will be closed to the public. Reopening will be evaluated weekly. All staff will continue to be available by phone and email and will have access to Township files. Residents can make tax payments online at www.knowlton-nj.com or drop payment made by check in the slot of the main door of the municipal building. Any resident that needs the constuction department should call between 8 am and 10 am on Tuesday or Thursday to make arrangements for permit matters. All other residents needing special arrangements can call the clerk during normal business hours at (908) 496-4816.
