Winter Storm Warning until 05:00PM

...Periods of Snow Continuing Sunday... .A cold upper-level storm system will continue to move across the region today. Snow levels are currently around 1500 to 2000 feet with areas of fairly steady snow working across the area from west to east this morning. This snow will tend to taper off to scattered showers this afternoon, with that activity continuing to diminish into this evening. Snow levels may rise more into the 2000 to 2500 ft range this afternoon, before lowering again by several hundred feet tonight.

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning above 2500 feet, heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches. For the Winter Weather Advisory from 1500 to 2500 feet, snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches.

* WHERE...Trinity county, Northeastern Mendocino Interior, and interior Humboldt and Del Norte counties. This includes most of the summits on Hwy 199, 101, 299, 3, and 36.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN HUMBOLDT INTERIOR ... NORTHEASTERN MENDOCINO INTERIOR ... NORTHERN TRINITY ... SOUTHERN TRINITY ... SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT INTERIOR ... DEL NORTE INTERIOR
