In an effort to stem the spread of the COVID-19 (Corona) virus, the City of National City will be closing the following city facilities as of March 13: Camacho Recreation Center, Casa de Salud, El Toyon Recreation Center, Kimball Senior Center, National City Public Library, and the Pool. Starting on March 13, the Senior Nutrition Center will begin delivering home meals and allowing for to-go meals, but will not be serving seated meals to the public onsite.

Starting Monday, March 16, City Hall and the MLK Center will have limited access to the public. We are encouraging the public to call ahead and schedule an appointment if they have essential business to conduct. To reach City Hall, please dial (619) 336-4241. The city will not be accepting development plans or issuing permits during this time, unless it is deemed an emergency service.

The City Council meeting scheduled for March 17 will still occur, with a modified agenda. Seating will be expanded to accommodate six feet of clearance between individuals; however, seating capacity will be limited as a result. Members of the public are encouraged to watch the live City Council broadcast online at www.nationalcityca.gov rather than in person, if possible. All other city boards and commissions are canceled through April 6.

The City of National City's top priority is the health and safety of our community. Our public safety officials continue to monitor the spread of the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19, coordinating closely with public health experts at the County of San Diego. At this time, residents are urged to stay informed and follow the prevention steps as recommended by the County of San Diego Health & Human Services.
