Message from the Township of Ocean

Dear Residents: March 14, 2020 For the health of the residents and staff the Township of Ocean will be closing the Town Hall Offices to the Public and Vendors starting Monday, March 16, 2020 through March 29, 2020. The Township and the Office of Emergency Management continue to monitor the ever-changing situation with COVID-19. All departments will be available to assist the residents by phone, fax, email, US Mail or the drop boxes that are in front of Town Hall and Construction and Zoning. A resident can set up an appointment to meet with the Department Head outside the office by contacting the department. A meeting can be set up based on need and if it cannot be handled over the phone. Please know the Township will require all inquirers to answer the below specific screening questions, prior to setting up an appointment. Questions to be asked prior to setting up appointment: Are you having flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath? In the last 14 days have you traveled to a high-risk area for transmission of COVID-19? Have you been in close contact with someone confirmed or is being evaluated for COVID-19? Are you now or have you been under quarantine? Construction/Zoning Inspections: The Township of Ocean will continue to inspect – New Construction - Please Note: If there are people living in a home that needs to be inspected, this will be postponed until a later date. - All other inspections will need to be assessed on an as needed basis. All residents/developers/builders will need to answer the specific screening questions. Please call the Construction and Zoning Office 609-693-3302 ext. 100. Vestibule will remain open The Township Committee is canceling meetings involving Township Committee, Boards or Commission through March 29, 2020. The Township Committee and the Office of Emergency Management encourage everyone to adhere to precautions related to hand-washing, hygiene and social distancing. The Public is encouraged to utilize the Township’s website: www.twpoceannj.gov The website is a great way to interact with the Township offices from a distance. Requests for Township services can be entered through the Website and e-mailed direct to the Department: http://www.twpoceannj.gov/phone-directory.html Tax and Utility payment can be done be via the Township’s website: https://wipp.edmundsassoc.com/Wipp/?wippid=1521 Payment for Taxes and Utility:Checks can be dropped in envelope in the mailbox in front of Town Hall, 50 Railroad Avenue at any time. This payment box has a security camera. Construction & Zoning Office – The Township has installed a Drop box in front of - 200 Wells Mills Road for permits & payments. Directly under the awning in front of the building on the ramp. This payment box has a security camera.
