Most City of Fremont Facilities will be Closed to the Public Monday, March 16, 2020 – March 31, 2020
 
Fremont, Calif. –March 15, 2020–Effective Monday, March 16 through Tuesday, March 31, 2020, most City facilities will be closed to the public. 
 
The health and safety of the Fremont community is our number one priority as we continue to monitor the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  On Friday, March 13, 2020, the City of Fremont proclaimed a local emergency and is taking measures under the guidance of the Alameda County Public Health Department and the California Department of Public Health to help protect the health and well-being of our community. To reduce the risk of community spread, the City of Fremont continues to evaluate City operations and is taking steps to limit exposure.  Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, the City is implementing temporary precautionary changes to non-essential City operations to protect City employees and the public who use City services by limiting person-to-person contact. 
 
If you have scheduled business with the City, please call the specific City department, at your earliest convenience to discuss rescheduling.  Further updates regarding essential City services and details regarding any alternative delivery methods for other services affected by the closure will be announced Monday, March 16, 2020 and over the following days as additional information is available.
 
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 through Tuesday, March 31, 2020, City facilities and offices taking part in the temporary closures are as follows:
 

  • City Hall – 3300 Capitol Ave, Building A and Building B (Administrative offices), (510) 284-4000

  • Fremont Police Department, 2000 Stevenson Blvd., (510) 790-6800
  • Fremont Police Detention Facility (closed to visitors), 1990 Stevenson Blvd., (510) 790-6800
  • Development Services Center, 39550 Liberty St., (510) 494-4443
  • Maintenance Center, 42551 Osgood Rd., (510) 979-5700
  • Tri-City Animal Shelter, 1950 Stevenson Blvd., (510) 790-6630
  • Senior Center, 40086 Paseo Padre Pkwy., (510) 790-6600
  • All Community Centers and Recreation Buildings, (510) 494-4300
  • All Alameda County Library Buildings, (510) 745-1400
 
During the temporary City facility closure:
  • Fremont Police and Fire will continue to provide essential public safety services.
  • The March 17, 2020 City Council meeting at 7 p.m. will continue to be held at Fremont City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave., in the City Council Chambers
 
Further information and updates on essential City services during the temporary facilities shutdown, will be made available to the public on Monday, March 16, with continued updates to follow frequently. The City of Fremont continues to work closely with Alameda County Public Health Department to monitor and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
