Deputies respond to a vehicle submerged at Lake Gregory

INCIDENT: Drowning
LOCATION: Lake Gregory – Lake Gregory Drive/San Moritz Drive, Crestline
VICTIM: Franklin Lee Dauster, age 84 a resident of Bullhead City, AZ
SUMMARY: On Sunday, March 15, 2020, at approximately 6:17 p.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station, officers from the California Highway Patrol and emergency personnel from San Bernardino County Fire responded to the report of a vehicle in Lake Gregory in the water in the area of Lake Gregory Drive and San Moritz Drive. County fire personnel entered the water in a boat and located the vehicle completely submerged approximately 75 feet from shore.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Dive Team were requested and responded to the location. Two dive team members recovered the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Franklin Lee Dauster, from the water. Emergency personnel from County Fire immediately began life-saving measures to resuscitate Mr. Dauster. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
