Ripon Taking Additional COVID-19 Precautions – March 16, 2020
The City of Ripon has been closely monitoring the rapidly evolving Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation. Based upon information from public health agencies and out of an abundance of caution, the following changes to the City of Ripon programs and operations are being made to prevent the spread of the COVID-19:
Recreation Programs: All City of Ripon recreation programs are suspended until the end of the month. This includes the delay of the youth flag football program. Recreation staff will be monitoring updates and guidance from the federal and state governments and will update participants of a revised schedule later this month.
Facility Rentals: All facility rentals are canceled until the end of the month.
Recycling Center: Operations at the Ripon Recycling Center located at 227 S. Industrial Avenue are suspended until the end of the month. Anyone leaving items at the recycling center during this time will be cited for illegal dumping in accordance with the Ripon Municipal Code.
City Council and Commission Meetings: All commission and non-emergency City Council meetings, including the March 16th Planning Commission meeting, are canceled for the month of March.
Police Department Lobby: All non-emergency services, including live scans, are suspended until the end of the month. Staff will continue to serve the community by telephone, email, and by appointment. Please call (209) 599-2102 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
City Hall Lobby: Counter service at City Hall is suspended until the end of the month. Staff will continue to serve the community by telephone, email, and by appointment. Please call (209) 599-2108 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
Building Department: Counter service at the Building Department is suspended until the end of the month. Staff will continue to serve the community by telephone, email, and by appointment. Please call (209) 599-2613 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
Engineering Department: Counter service at the Engineering Department is suspended until the end of the month. Staff will continue to serve the community by telephone, email, and by appointment. Please call (209) 599-2108 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
Ripon Senior Center: Effective March 13th, all activities at the Senior Center are suspended until the end of the month, with the exception of the meals program.
Blossom Express Transit Service: Blossom Express transit service is suspended until the end of the month.
Ripon Library: Effective March 15th, the Ripon branch of the Stockton – San Joaquin County Public Library was closed by the City of Stockton and will likely remain closed through the end of the month. Refer to the Stockton – San Joaquin County Public Library website for additional information.
