Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.

On March 16 at approximately 5:00 p.m. members of the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in the 900 block of North Tatnall Street.  Officers made contact with the driver, 30-year-old Robert Branch.  He was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun and marijuana.  Branch was taken into custody without incident.  Through further investigation, officers were able to recover a .223 semi-automatic rifle, .45 caliber handgun, .22 caliber rifle, ammunition, 36.9 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $2,041 in currency. 

Branch was charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic violations:

• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (4 counts)
• Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
