March 17, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

The first positive case of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) has now been identified in Warren County. The 56-year-old male, from Mansfield Township, was treated at Hackettstown Medical Center and is now recovering at home.  He is believed to have acquired the virus through travel, not community spread.  As of today, there are 267 active cases of coronavirus in New Jersey, an increase of 89 since yesterday afternoon.

Here is the latest information. 
At the Local Level in Knowlton

  • Tunnel Field playground is closed to the public due to the virus's ability to reside on plastic playground equipment for several days.  Residents may still use the walking track while being mindful of CDC guidance not to gather in groups. 
  • We encourage residents to support local businesses during this difficult period.  The following Knowlton restaurants are offering curbside pickup and delivery.  Visit their Facebook pages for current menus and call them to order at the numbers below:

At the County Level: 
Warren County government offices are closed to the public effective today, but offices will continue to conduct business via telephone and email. The County landfill will remain operational. Warren County library branches are closed until further notice. Fines will not be issued for overdue items during closure and book circulation has ceased for the time being.  In addition to the guidelines already circulated, the County is advising  residents to have at least two weeks of household items and groceries on hand so that all residents are prepared to stay home for an extended period of time.

More testing sites are expected to be set up throughout New Jersey, including in Warren County, early next week.  Details will be provided when they become available.
