FAQS ON CCHS SHELTER ORDER

As of 12:01 am March 17, 2020, Contra Costa Health Services has placed the county on a shelter in place order through April 7, 2020.

In the order, residents are encouraged to stay home unless they are seeking or providing essential services.  There have been many questions asked about how the order will work and what residents should do, so the county has issued an FAQ sheet  (attached) that should help answer many of those questions.  In addition, they have opened a call center for residents to ask questions about the order.

One area we have been asked about quite a bit is whether residents can leave their homes to walk, run, hike, bike, etc.  The answer to that is yes.  You are not constrained to your homes, and can certainly go out and hike or walk.  The only restriction is to adhere to good social distancing (6 ft separation) and do not congregate in groups.

Remember, the best way to mitigate the virus is to follow the guidelines set down, practice good hygiene and good social distancing.

Stay safe!
