Here’s how you can help:
Important message from Police Chief Ferguson
As you are aware, the City is negotiating an unprecedented situation related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) that is directly impacting our community - especially our most vulnerable residents.
Based on the latest information, here is a situation update:
- The City of Cloverdale declared a Local State of Emergency on March 15th
- Two Sonoma County residents have tested positive for Cases of Coronavirus/COVID 19 due to community spread unrelated to travel.
- The Departments of Public Health has recommended that older adults, people with certain health conditions and other vulnerable populations should limit “non-essential” gatherings. This practice of “social distancing” is intended to keep people safe and help slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
Here’s how you can help:
- Identify your neighbors who you believe may need elevated monitoring especially for accessing food and medicine.
- Reach out to them, either in person or by phone, and inquire about:
- Their health, physically and psychologically
- Any current and emerging needs and the level of support they are receiving from:
- Their household
- Their Family
- Their Neighbors/Friends
- Agencies that provide them services
- Inquire about their ability to acquire groceries and medications:
- If they share that they ARE still comfortable going to the store/pharmacy, then encourage them to shop during off peak hours to reduce their exposure to others
- If they share that they AREN’T comfortable going to the store/pharmacy, then remind of the following:
- You, a family member or friend can shop online at the following locations:
- Amazon (www.amazon.com)- Log in or create an account to have essentials delivered to your home.
- CVS (www.cvs.com) - Choose “Prescriptions” and then you’ll be directed to a page to sign in or sign up for an online account. Then you can request prescriptions and a home delivery.
- Kaiser (www.kp.org) – Call the Kaiser prescription re-fill number (on the medicine container) when they refill a prescription and ask that the prescription be mailed to them (rather than picked up at one of Kaiser’s pharmacies). Or sign into the online account or register to create a new account. Then you can refill prescriptions and request home delivery.
- Moving forward:
- Monitor your neighbors’ condition by phone or in person
- Consider providing them with your phone number or email
