March 18, 2020, Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

The second positive case of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) was identified today in Warren County. The 49-year-old male from Lopatcong Township was treated by his private physician and is recuperating at home.  Full details can be found at the county website:http://www.co.warren.nj.us/.   This brings the state total of corona virus cases to 427.

On the Local Level in Knowlton Township:

  • Tunnel Field playground and picnic area remain closed to the public due to the virus's ability to reside on plastic and metal equipment for several days. The gate and bathrooms also remain closed.  Residents may walk over and use the open areas, such as the walking track and fields, while being mindful of CDC guidance not to gather in groups.
  • Knowlton is pulling together as a community--We now have a volunteer team delivering assistance to a dozen Knowlton families.  If anyone needs assistance with obtaining basic household items, prescriptions, or food, or if you are able to volunteer,  contact Deputy Mayor Debbie Shipps 908-217-0836 or [email protected].
  • In addition to the Knowlton restaurants listed yesterday, Dalton's and the Log Cabin Inn are both open and offering takeout and/or delivery options.
Several local grocery stores now offer online shopping.  This is a service that allows customers to select items online with the use of a personal shopper and pay via credit card.  Once you arrive at the appointed time, someone brings the groceries to the car for you.  Here is how to sign up:

Acme is also offering special shopping hours for seniors and other at-risk persons:  7:00 to 9:00 am daily.  For the online shopping, residents should plan ahead--time slots fill up quickly.

3. Dale's Market in Blairstown offers shopping by phone at: 908-362-7395 and 908-930-2202. Orders are charged to your credit card and if you are unable to go into the store an employee will bring it out to your vehicle. https://www.dalesmarket.com/

4. Race Farm in Blairstown will take orders over the phone (908-362-8520), bag the groceries, and bring them to your car if needed. 

5.Mohican Farms will take orders over the phone by credit card (908-852 1500), bag them, and prepare them for pickup.  Limited local delivery available.  https://www.mohicanfarmllc.com/


At the State Level:
Governor Murphy announced the closure of indoor portions of retail shopping malls and all places of public amusement, whether indoors or outdoors.  This includes amusement parks, aquariums, bowling alleys, etc.  The Governor's Administrative Order does not apply to public parks and open recreation areas.
