FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In an effort to minimize any potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus to both citizens and City staff, the City of Angels Camp will close its public business offices beginning March 19, 2020 until further notice.

Angels Camp City Council is encouraging residents to limit face-to-face interactions with City staff and is being asked to telephone, email, or utilize on-line resources for City services.

Essential City services including Police, Fire, Water, Wastewater, and Public Works will continue to provide services to residents 24/7. City staff working to provide these essential services, will continue to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and practice universal precautions as they do in the course of their everyday responsibilities.

ANGELS CAMP POLICE DEPARTMENT BUSINESS OFFICE

The Angels Camp Police Department business office lobby will be closed for most non-emergency services including Records, Calaveras Parking Enforcement, and all other routine business services. Open by appointment only for Sex and Arson Registration transactions and Vehicle Releases. Please call (209) 736-2567 to make an appointment.

If you show up at the Police Department and need to speak to an Angels Camp Police Officer, press the “Push for Help” button on the callbox outside the lobby doors. The callbox will connect you with a dispatcher 24/7. As always, call 911 if you have an emergency.

ANGELS CAMP FIRE DEPARTMENT BUSINESS OFFICE

The Angels Camp Fire Department Business Office will be closed. Angels Camp Fire Department staff will be available by phone (209) 736-4081 for any business or non-emergency inquiries. If nobody answers, leave a message and an Angels Camp Fire Department representative will call you back as soon as possible.

ANGELS CAMP CITY HALL

Angels Camp City Hall has modified their counter services and encourage citizens to contact them via phone, email, or online services.

A payment drop box is available for the payment of utility bills in the parking lot of City Hall. Payments may also be made online at angelscamp.gov

ANGELS CAMP COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Community Development will be open for building inspections by appointment only. Please call (209) 736-1346 or email [email protected] to schedule a building inspection appointment.

Building Permits and Development Applications may be submitted by email to [email protected] or via the drop-box located at the Community Development Department 200 Monte Verda St, Ste B, Monday- Thursday during business hours. A City representative will contact you upon receipt of your building permit.

ANGELS CAMP MUSEUM

The Angels Camp Museum will remain closed until further notice.

ANGELS CAMP CITY PARKS

Angels Camp City Parks are open but the restrooms may be locked, as needed, to avoid the spread of the virus for the protection of the community.

• When possible, Angels Camp Police Department Officers will be responding to non-emergency calls by telephone only. Please ensure the phone number you provide to the dispatcher is a valid phone number to contact you.
If you have an emergency situation please call 911 and officers will continue to be dispatched to the location of the emergency.
• Limit all face-to-face contact outside of your residence to essential contacts. Use the phone or email whenever possible to help minimize any potential exposures to you and our community.
