Free Meter Parking in Oxford Uptown area

On Tuesday night Oxford City Council approved free parking at the uptown meters. This is designed to incentivize citizens to patronize the uptown restaurants while they are limited to carry-out and delivery service only. We all want the businesses to succeed during these unprecedented times and keeping parking spaces open for folks to grab their carry out is a way to help with that.

Even though the meters are free, the two-hour time limit will still be enforced. We encourage uptown employees to park on side streets to allow the customers to use the spots out front. At this point, there is no ending date to the free parking, but we will notify you when Council decides that.

**The free meters will be at the following locations: High Street, E. Park Place, W. Park Place, Poplar Street, Main Street and Beech Street between Walnut Street and Church Street, and in Lot 52 (surface lot.)
