AMENDMENT TO DECLARATION OF LOCAL DISASTER
In order to further combat the spread of COVID-19, effective immediately, the Mayor has further limited the number of persons who may gather from 50 to 10. The change will go into effect at 1:30 PM, 03/19/2020.
The City will be in contact with local business effected by the change.
In support of the recommendation by the Waco-McLennan County Public Health Department, the Mayor of the City of Woodway today declared a formal local disaster emergency in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
We are looking for all available resources to help us address the growing community needs in the City of Woodway around this global health crisis. Our dedicated staff and public officials are working to meet our local needs for assistance and ensure that the concerns of our residents are being fully addressed.
Although this disease has not yet peaked for our area, state, or county, we must be vigilant and take care of one another. We are working diligently to slow the spread of COVID-19 in McLennan County and this declaration will provide necessary measures to do so.
