On 12/25/2019 at about 1:00 PM, Crescenta Valley Station Deputies responded to the 5300 block of Ivafern Lane, La Cañada Flintridge for a burglary report.  Deputies learned a suspect had removed the screen from a window, entered the residence, and stole numerous high end purses and jewelry.  The Deputies on scene requested a fingerprint technician to the home.  The technician found fingerprints at the scene.

Detectives assigned to the case combed the neighborhood for any video surveillance.  They learned a neighbor had captured footage of the suspect's vehicle leaving the area.  A break in the case came when the fingerprints returned to a male adult suspect from Los Angeles.  The suspect was on Post Release Community Supervision for burglary.

This morning, detectives served a search warrant at the suspect's home. He was arrested for burglary and receiving stolen property.  A probation hold was also placed on him.

The video footage from the community helped detectives solve this case.  Having video surveillance may deter burglars from targeting your home.  In the event a burglary occurs, the video increases the chances detectives can solve the case.  If you see anything suspicious in your neighborhood, call Crescenta Valley Station at 818-248-3464 and report the activity.
