Advisory

March 19, 2020 Knowlton Township Coronavirus Update

Today, two additional positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Warren County. A 74-year-old male from Phillipsburg is hospitalized in Warren County and a 73-year-old male resident of Hackettstown was treated at a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital and is now recuperating at home. This brings the total confirmed cases in Warren County to 4 and the total in the state to 742.

The two new cases in Warren County are believed to have originated from community spread.  Health officials stress that social distancing is critically important to minimize further spread and to preserve the capacity of area hospitals as well as area medical supplies.  The County health department continues to proactively contact all persons with known contact with the confirmed cases.

For residents with respiratory symptoms: Call your doctor first.   Area hospitals are using  procedures,  most of which include being screened over the phone or via tele-health visit,  before scheduling a COVID-19 test.  Some testing locations are also accepting scripts for a test from a Primary Care Physician.

More information is available from each of the area hospitals:

On the Local Level:

On the State Level:
Today the Murphy administration issued an order closing to the public all meetings of social or community service organizations and personal care services  that, by their nature,  make it difficult to comply with social distancing guidelines.  This includes all beauty and hair salons, barber shops, spas, as well as nail and tanning salons.  It also includes meetings of groups such as the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and others. The full order can be viewed on the Knowlton Township website at www.knowlton-nj.com.

The Governor also issued Executive Order 105, temporarily changing certain election procedures and changing the date of upcoming elections (Knowlton's upcoming election in June is not effected by this order).
