Message from Mayor Jett
Message from Mayor Wayne Jett
In an effort to keep you all informed and prepared for the statewide “Stay at Home Order”, I have attached a full copy for review. As residents and business owners read through the Order please take note that the purpose of this order is for individuals and families to participate in our efforts to overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic. If you are not an “essential business”, do not open. If you are not an employee of an essential business, please stay at home or work from home. Our success in this stage of the fight against COVID-19 is dependent on everyone’s participation. Businesses who have questions regarding whether they are essential or not should first review the Order in detail. If after reviewing the Order, questions on staying open are still unanswered, businesses should contact the non-emergency number for the Police Department and ask for guidance. Likewise any complaints on businesses remaining open against the Order should also be reported to the non-emergency number of the Police Department (815-363-2200). All complaints will be investigated. Please remember that as we move through the next 17 days of this Order we must remain supportive and courteous towards our fellow citizens.
Sincerely,
Mayor Jett
