Electrical Rates
The St. Marys City Commission held a special meeting on Monday, March 23, 2020 to consider the economic impact of the ongoing response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). After discussion, there was a consensus that the situation warranted action by the city commission. As a result, they voted to not charge the city’s electrical customers for the kWh’s they consumed during the period from February 11, 2020 to March 16, 2020, commonly referred to as the April 1st billing period. In addition, the five percent (5%) late fee will not be applied for the same billing period.
Please note that the city will bill for the refuse, water, and sewer consumption for the abovementioned time period, and that all previous billed charges are still owed and due on the 20th of the month. In addition, a delinquent notice (without the 5% penalty) will still be mailed for the accounts not paid by the due date, and accounts that remain unpaid after the second notice will still be given personal service (ex. door hanger) and assessed the applicable fee.
