LOCATION: Yucaipa Blvd. and Bryant Ave., Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Wendy Whittemore, age 52 a transient
VICTIM(S): The Bungalows, 33000 block of Chapman Heights Rd
SUMMARY: On March 22, 2020, deputies investigated a reported theft from The Bungalows, located in the 33000 block of Chapman Heights Rd. The female suspect, who was captured on video, stole 73 "disconnect fuses" from air conditioning units around the complex.
On March 23, 2020, at approximately 4:00 p.m., deputies contacted a white female adult, later identified as Wendy Whittemore, near the intersection of Bryant Avenue and Yucaipa Boulevard. Whittemore matched the description of the suspect seen on video stealing fuses the day before. A search revealed her to be in possession of approximately 50 of the stolen fuses. Whittemore was arrested and transported to Central Detention Center in San Bernardino for booking. The victim was contacted and the recovered stolen property was later returned.
