Sexually Violent Predator Placement Postponed
The placement of Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) Michael Poulsom in the East County has been postponed.
Pursuant to California Governor Gavin Newsom's Executive Order N-35-20, the Director of the Department of State Hospitals issued a directive to suspend the release of SVP patients for the next thirty days. A news release will be posted prior to Poulsom's new release date.
The California Department of State Hospitals (DSH) has recommended the placement of Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) Michael Poulsom at 45612 Old Highway 80 in Jacumba Hot Springs. He was convicted in the 1990s of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
The Sheriff's Department, District Attorney’s Office and SAFE Task Force are not responsible for the selection of the proposed site. The selection process and approval are the responsibility of the Department of State Hospitals and San Diego Superior Court.
