Updated San Joaquin County Public Health Stay at Home Order and City of Ripon Information

FOR PUBLIC RELEASE

On March 26, 2020, the San Joaquin County Public Health Officer and Director of Emergency Services issued an updated Stay at Home Order for all individuals living within San Joaquin County (see attached). 
To comply with this Order, the City of Ripon will be temporarily closing all park and playground equipment.  This includes the skate park, basketball courts, tennis courts, bocci ball courts, restrooms, etc.  At this time, the City’s parks open space will remain open.  Please follow all Social Distancing requirements.
This Order also requires the closing of all golf courses in San Joaquin County. 
As a reminder, individuals may leave their residence only to perform “Essential Activities”, which are limited to the following:

  • To engage in activities or perform tasks essential to their health and safety, or to the health and safety of their family or household members (including, but not limited to, pets). 
    • Examples include obtaining medical supplies or medication, visiting a health care professional, or obtaining supplies they need to work from home.
  • To obtain necessary services or supplies for themselves and their family or household members or deliver those services or supplies to others.
    • Examples include canned food, dry goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, pet supply, fresh meats, fish, and poultry, and any other household consumer products, and products necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences.
  • To engage in outdoor activity, providing the individuals comply with Social Distancing requirements.
    • Examples including walking, hiking, biking, running, or equestrian activities.  Do not use park or playground equipment.
  • To perform work as an Essential Critical Infrastructure Worker.
  • To care for a family member or pet in another household.
Individuals at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and people who are sick are urged to stay at home or place of residence to the extent possible except as necessary to seek medical care.
